Missing Teeth
You may be surprised to know that naturally missing adult teeth is quite common and is something we see every day at Brisbane Orthodontics. Missing teeth can result in unattractive spaces, asymmetry and smile disharmony. Opposing and adjacent teeth can drift into the space to create further problems. Orthodontic treatment can move all the teeth into correct position and create proper space to facilitate replacement of the missing teeth. Alternatively, it is possible to close the spaces and avoid having to replace teeth. There are many factors to consider when making this decision and your Orthodontist will discuss what will be the best option for you or your child.
Impacted Teeth
Impacted teeth are teeth that have become stuck because they don't have sufficient space to erupt. Orthodontic treatment involves creating space to allow the impacted tooth to erupt.
Ectopic Teeth
Ectopic teeth are teeth which develop in the wrong position. In most cases, an ectopic tooth can be moved into the correct position with braces. In some cases, an attachment needs to be glued to the ectopic tooth so that your Orthodontist can guide it into the correct position.
