No. You can arrange a consultation without your dentist's referral however we will ask you to see your dentist for a check-up prior to any treatment. If you do not have a dentist, we will happily provide you with some convenient options. We have a large number of well-respected and caring colleagues who can look after your general dental needs.

We are sensitive to the financial pressures on families today, so for your convenience, we provide payment plans for your orthodontic care. An initial deposit is paid when the appliances are constructed or fitted, and the balance is paid in monthly instalments for the duration of the treatment. We also offer deposit free payment plans through Denticare.

No two orthodontic problems are the same and the cost of orthodontic treatment will depend on the severity of the problem and the treatment required. Many orthodontic problems require only simple treatment, and you might find that the cost is lower than you thought. Costs will be discussed in full at your initial consultation. The fee that we quote covers all aspects of your orthodontic treatment and the majority of patients pay this fee in instalments over the duration of the treatment thus making payment more manageable.

Health funds repay some of the cost of orthodontic treatment for fund members who have the appropriate level of dental insurance. Please carefully check the premiums, conditions and level or rebate to see whether you will be better off with insurance or not. Our staff can provide you with the relevant item numbers so you can get accurate information from your fund.

Yes! Braces will not interfere with your sporting activities. However, if you are playing contact sport, you must ask us for a mouthguard. We are happy to provide temporary mouthguards, free of charge for your patients for the duration of their treatment.

Yes! There may be a short adjustment period for you after your braces or clear aligners have been fitted. Depending on the instrument you play, your orthodontist will be able to give you some tips and tricks to make it as comfortable as possible.

Wearing braces and aligners is simple and generally quite easy with the modern devices available. However, both need to be regularly adjusted, and this may make the teeth feel tender for a day or two. The fitting of braces and Invisalign is generally painless. Tenderness usually occurs several hours after placement of the appliances and similarly after adjustments. Most of our patients require some mild analgesic after the initial fitting and won’t use it again for the remainder of the treatment.
